Obstacles at the Wintergreen Adventure Challenge
  1. Will this be a timed event? No. It's a personal endurance challenge, no clock, no trophies, just sore muscles and maybe a scratch or two.
  2. Are the proceeds of this event supporting Wounded Warrior or any other charities? Yes, A portion of all entry fees will be donated to WAS. That’s Wintergreen Adaptive Sports; check it out at
  3. I am part of a team, can we register together? Yes! You can find team registration info on the Registration Page.
  4. Is my start time set? Yes, we have no plans to change your time after registration.

  6. Where do I park? We have lots of parking on the mountain, but it is first come, first served. Suggestions: Save gas, car pool with others. Arrive early; though all parking is on the mountain, you may be directed to a parking area away from the event and shuttled to the event start area. If you are staying on the mountain, please leave our vehicle parked at the accommodation and use the resort shuttle. PS: no RV’s or motorcycles allowed.
  7. What do I bring? Not much. There will be bag check available for that change of clothes and shoes. You must have photo ID at registration desk. No food or alcohol can be brought into the event village.
  8. Can I bring the family? Are children welcome? Absolutely, families are welcome to cheer you on and enjoy the festivities. Anyone over 21 who wants to purchase alcohol in the event village must have photo ID with date of birth.

    Spectator Passes

    We expect 3,000 people each day to participate in this crazy- tough obstacle course. While they navigate the seven mile track, they’ll need you to cheer them on.  Tickets: $10 and includes a chairlift ride. Click here to purchase online.

  10. Will there be food? Yes, there will be plenty of food and drink available for sale all day.

  12. When should I arrive? We suggest that you arrive 1-2 hours before your scheduled start time. If you are in a line at registration, please be considerate of others with an earlier start time than you.
  13. What do I get for finishing the course? A tee shirt and bragging rights.
  14. Race Day process? Event check-in will be in the middle level of the Skyline Pavilion (that’s the ski rental shop if you’ve been here in the winter). You will pickup, read and sign these two documents: Course Rules Agreement, and the Participation Agreement. You are welcome to print and bring them with you, but plenty of copies will be available. Now you are ready to check-in. Find the table associated with your last name: be sure to have the two signed documents and your photo ID. The ID must also have date of birth. You will receive your participant bib, a wrist band and your WAC tee shirt. Next head to Bag Check and you are ready to relax until your start time.
  15. After the event? First, visit the water hose provided by Wintergreen Fire Department. Then as you start to unwind in the event village, go to Bag Check to claim your bag. In the village you will find vendor tents, activities and live music. Stay as long as you like.
  16. Can I get a refund? I have a conflict and can’t attend. Sorry, a refund is not possible, but you can transfer your registration to another person prior to the event. Email us at
  17. What should I wear? You will get wet and muddy.
    • A dry wicking material is suggested.
    • A running style shoe with good tread is suggested. Nothing with cleats that could be dangerous to other participants, please.
    • Some folks wear gloves (like the football players wear).
    • A watch if you want to time yourself.
  18. Do I have to complete every obstacle? No, you can go around any obstacle that you can’t do. It is a personal challenge, so push yourself and conquer your fears.
