Volunteers Sought
WINTERGREEN,
Va. (January 19, 2012) — The home of the “2011 Outstanding Ski
Patrol in the Nation,” Wintergreen
Resort, is recruiting volunteers for its award-winning Ski Patrol
team.
On
February11 and 25, interested skiers will have the opportunity to ski with a
Wintergreen Ski Patroller and experience firsthand exactly what a patroller
does both on and off the slopes. Minimum age to join the ski patrol is
15. The Wintergreen Ski Patrol dedicates itself to ensuring the safety of
the public using the mountain and serving the outdoor recreation industry by
providing education, emergency care and safety services.
Wintergreen’s
Youth Patrol also is looking for interested skiers to join its mountain team
and welcomes youth from 11-15 years of age to become part of the Youth Patrol.
Members receive basic first aid skills and CPR, ski the slopes for two hours on
Saturdays.
This month,
Wintergreen Resort is recognizing Learn a Snow Sport Month and Ski and
Snowboard Safety Week.
