WINTERGREEN RESORT ROLLS OUT
‘GET ON BOARD VIRGINIA!’
PROGRAM
WINTERGREEN,
Va. (Nov. 8, 2012) – If this is the winter season that you plan to become a
skier or snowboarder, or simply sharpen your skills, Wintergreen Resort has four words
for you: “Get On Board, Virginia!”
For just
$49, the resort’s “Get On Board” program will enable guests to purchase a lift
ticket, rent equipment and partake in a group lesson – a value of nearly $125
if purchased separately. The program will be in green-light mode Mondays
through Fridays, from opening day through December 21, 2012 and January 2, 2013
through the end of the winter season.
Those
wishing to take advantage of the program should visit the Wintergreen Resort
web site – www.wintergreenresort.com
– and print out the “Get On Board” coupon (http://www.wintergreenresort.com/GetOnBoardVA/),
which is redeemable at the cashier window within 14 days of printing the
coupon. Skiers and snowboarders with the lift ticket will be eligible to
ski the mountain’s central slopes, with runs ideally tailored for
beginners.
“Get On
Board” coupons will provide skiers and snow boarders access to the mountain
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays,
Fridays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The coupons are limited to groups of eight
participants or fewer, and are not redeemable Dec. 26 through Jan. 2, 2012 or
the Sundays of Martin Luther King or Presidents’ Day weekends.
Wintergreen
Resort – twice named “Best Ski Resort” by readers of the Washington Post.com – features a full complement of lessons
for all ages and ability levels. If Get on Board doesn’t fit your
schedule, the Wintergreen Snow Sports School offers a wide variety of ski and
snowboard lessons, from half-day and full-day programs in the Treehouse for
kids, to group and private lessons.
Head and
Rossignol rental equipment is available for skiers and snowboarders, and the
rental shop is now paperless so that rentals are processed
electronically. Pre-registering online (www.wintergreenresort.com/Rentals/)
for rentals is free and gets the skier and snowboarder on the snow
faster.
For skiers
and snowboarders, Wintergreen offers 26 slopes on 129 skiable acres with two high-speed
chairlifts. The resort features the region’s most extensive terrain, with ample
slopes for beginners, intermediates and experts alike. Fourteen slopes
are lighted for night skiing and the resort’s longest run is 1.4 miles.
Two terrain parks and the region’s top snow tubing park add to the winter
recreational offerings.
