Mitchell Barker

Mitchell has 20 years experience in mechanical and structural repairs. As the resort service manager for the last six years, he is responsible for the day to day operations of the Resort Services Office. Mitchell started at Wintergreen in 1993 as a general maintenance technician and locksmith and worked his way through the department. He has a HVAC universal certification and is currently working on his journeyman’s HVAC certification.

James Burnley

James is Wintergreen's lead technician for plumbing and has been at Wintergreen for the past eight years. James has over 20 years experience in the construction fields and in that time has seen and done most everything. He specializes in electrical and plumbing work and holds a masters certification card for both. He is also a remodeling specialist.

Roy Kurpel

Roy is Assistant Manager of Resort Services. With over 25 years of experience in construction and maintenance, Roy brings a wealth of knowledge to Wintergreen where he has worked for the past five years. Roy graduated from Charlottesville-Albemarle Technical Education Center with certification as a Building Maintenance Technician and state certification as a Maintenance Mechanic. His studies included carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. Other certifications include construction management and OSHA construction safety and health. He is an exterior membrane specialist including work with deck and siding repair, power washing and sealing deck, painting and staining. Kitchen and bath remodeling, interior painting and wall and floor tile installation are also areas where Roy has experience.

Chuck Hopkinson

Chuck is Wintergreen's lead technician for HVAC. His 31 years of experience includes running his own successful company for 10 years. Chuck has been at Wintergreen for over seven years and has worked with sales, service, teaching and refrigeration service for all condos, private homes, restaurants and Interco equipment. He holds certificates of Refrigerant, HVAC&R controls, oil heat, heat pumps, gas heat, and numerous certificates from Carrier and Trane for compressors, communicating systems, updates, Geo Thermal systems and more.

Juan Pibernus Ortiz

Juan is Wintergreen's lead technician for electrical. Juan began working for Wintergreen in 2007. Prior to that, Juan spent approximately 20 years travelling all over the southeast building, maintaining and installing in the cellular, radio, TV, Alarm, and restaurant industries. He has worked extensively in commercial and residential construction on projects that include: carpentry, interior and exterior finishes, Concrete and tile, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. Juan holds a journeyman’s electrical certification.
