She Jumps ….
Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol, a day camp at Wintergreen Resort, was held on Sunday, February 24. Young girls learned mountain safety and first aid while working with the strong women and men of the ski patrol community.
This event was open to intermediate to expert skiers/snowboarders ages 8 - 17 who identify as female. They are split into teams based on their skier ability and then rotate through different stations. Throughout the day, girls are taught a range of outdoor skills utilized by ski patrollers to keep the mountain safe. Girls work alongside female patrollers and volunteers to learn more about the many facets of mountain safety and first aid. Today we bid February farewell, and what a February it’s been. Awesome conditions all month, 100% terrain is still open. Beautiful white snow! Celebrate the close of the month at Wintergreen.
Today will be partly sunny during the day with temperatures in the low 40s. Precipitation will start after the sun sets - it could be rain or it could be snow. Cross your fingers for SNOW!
The buzz on the mountain is how great conditions are – it’s incredible – and so much fun. Next week will prove Wintergreen Will was right - winter isn’t over. We’ll have a nice stretch of cooler temperatures all week long. We built the slopes to last and we plan to ski, ride and tube well into March.Last Edited by Mountain Messenger on Thursday, February 28, 2019
