Fun No Matter What Mother Nature Brings

That four-letter word surfaced this morning – rain. But there is a sunny side to rain so let’s choose our attitude and make some fun. Here’s the upside to a day with some drizzle.

  • The snow will be softer, so practice your turns and technique. We have a great base, so the snow isn’t going to disappear.
  • If you decide to take a lesson, chances are the group will be smaller and you’ll get more attention.
  • Temps will be warmer and you won’t be bundled up in layer upon layer.
  • Speaking of dressing for the weather, it’s a great opportunity to test out that high-tech wicking jacket and pants you got for Christmas. Remember, GORE-TEX is your friend!

Your friends may think you’re crazy when you tell them you had a great time, but you know any day on slopes is better and being stuck inside. Let’s have some fun!

Slope conditions: Today we have six slopes open with machine groomed surface.

Lifts: Three lifts open

Weather forecast: We’ll see rain and fog today with highs reaching to the upper 50’s. Rain will be scattered with heaviest in the late afternoon. Rain will clear overnight bringing sunshine for Sunday.

Snowmaking: Snowmaking will take a short break over the next few days. We’ll keep you up to date on when SNOWPOWER will start to flex those muscles and get back to doing what we do best – making snow.

App: Download the NEW Wintergreen app. It’s a great way to keep up with what’s happening at Wintergreen – live web cams, reporting, GPS tracking, events calendar, dining outlets and menus, push notifications, and more!

Weekend Highlights:

  • Friday Weekend Welcome features meats and cheeses paired with Chloe wines.
  • The Nature Foundation starts their winter lecture series with a presentation on The Basis for Scientific Knowledge on Friday night.
  • Live entertainment starts on Friday with SHAG – who will also play at Apres Ski on Saturday – and Saturday night Mercy Creek entertains.
  • Start your Saturday with the Corduroy Club (for Members and Wintergreen lodging guests) and ski or ride with the staff.

Lifts: Three lifts open

Weather forecast: Today will be cloudy with highs reaching to the upper 40’s. Rain comes in late Friday night.
