It's finally Friday and it's time to come up the mountain and get some incredible skiing in before the end of the year. Slopes are in great condition and we hope to see you before next year.
We had such an amazing time with everyone in 2022. We can't wait to see what 2023 brings and we hope to see everyone up on the mountain. Cheers to 2023! What was your favorite memory of 2022?
We have some fun events happening for New Year's. Friday, Dec. 30th we have fireworks at 10pm. The best place to view the fireworks will be on the Blue Ridge Terrace.
Dec. 31st - New Year's Eve Party at Upper Crust Pizza
All ages are welcome to ring in 2023 with us inside Upper Crust Pizza! Mad Maxx & The Groove Train Band will be playing from 9pm-12:30am. Food and Drink will be available for purchase. This event
is free and family friendly. Don’t forget to hit up the photo booth and take some picture with family and friends. Props will be available as well.

Join us on New Year’s Eve for an evening of rockin’ guitars, electric vocals, and all of our favorite songs with Empty Bottles. Food and drink will be available for purchase. 9:30pm-12:00am. Open to guests
21 years of age and older. Empty Bottles is SWVA’s favorite cover band, devoted to delivering stirring renditions of Yacht Rock and other retro jams.

It will be cold on the mountain today, so make sure you wear layers. The snow is in great shape and we were able to open another slope today, Upper Diamond. Slopes will close at 4pm today because of Christmas Eve.

Wind gusts may affect chairlift operations. We plan to operate skiing and snowboarding December 23 and 24 from 9:00am-4:00pm. Night skiing has been suspended for Friday, December 23. At this time, we plan to offer Snow Tubing as scheduled, but we will assess again on Friday. Please check our social channels, mobile app, and mountain report on the website daily for the latest updates.

We did it! A little over an hour ago the rope dropped for the 2022-23 winter season. We are very excited to get this season underway. It's time to dust off those skis and boards and head to the mountains.
We expect to have Big Acorn lift open by 10am tomorrow with the opening of Eagles Swoop.

Wintergreen Resort plans to open for the 2022-23 winter season on Tuesday, December 20 for skiing and snowboarding from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Dobie will be the first trail to open serviced by the Blue Ridge Express, a six-person detachable chairlift. Snow tubing opened for the winter season on Friday, November 25.
Wintergreen Resort’s General Manager, Jay Gamble commented on the start of the season, “We couldn’t be more pleased to open the mountain for skiing and riding on Tuesday, and it is all thanks to our Mountain Operations team who took full advantage of every hour of snowmaking opportunity. Those wet mild November days did not dampen our team’s spirit or efforts as they were at the ready when the cold temps arrived. We look forward to continuing our aggressive snowmaking efforts with more terrain coming soon.”
Mission: Four’dable Quad Packs of unrestricted lift tickets are available online through December 19 for $299. Lift tickets from December 20 through 22 will be $69 for adults and $49 for juniors and seniors. Regular season lift ticket pricing starts Friday, December 23. Additional services and amenities available include dining, shopping, and skier services. The most up-to-date conditions, lift operations, and trail openings will be on Wintergreen Resort’s Mountain Report at wintergreenresort.com or on the Wintergreen mobile app. All operations are tentative and weather permitting.

The snowmaking team was able to resume snowmaking last night and the slopes are starting to be covered in a blanket of snow. The team will be on standby with promising temperatures in our 10-day forecast. SNOWPOWER, our fully automated snowmaking system, takes advantage of every opportunity when temperatures permit. Over the summer, 16 of the world’s most advanced fan guns were added as well as improvements to the overall system allowing for maximum efficiency and better precision. The mountain will be a winter wonderland before you know it. Keep an eye on our website and social media for updates on opening day as snowmaking progresses over the next 10 days.
