Presidents Day Weekend

February 14-17, 2020

A long weekend to take advantage of great skiing, riding and tubing! Some of our best conditions are in February - be sure to book your weekend early.

Presidential fun on Saturday and Sunday:

Wintergreen Ninja Warrior Challenge (Discovery Ridge Adventure Center) Test your inner ninja. At the top of each hour from 1- 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday, take the challenge on this timed race course. Age groups: 11 and under or 12 and older.

Scavenger Hunt – Centered around the Mountain Inn and the Blue Ridge Terrace, it’s a fun break for the kids to see if they can follow the clues.

Fun on the Blue Ridge Terrace (all day) Stop by for wintery yard games – giant jenga, ladder ball, corn hole and more.

Friday, February 14

The Spa Special for February is offered all month, but perfect for today! Love Your Skin This deeply hydrating, decadently scented Chocolate Truffle wrap will leave your skin feeling smooth and toned.  The service includes a full body Chocolate Truffle mousse application, a warm wrap while your therapist massages your scalp and feet, a luxurious Vichy shower and a full body application of a specialty essential oil blend designed to relax the senses.

8 am -3 pm Never Summer Demo Day (Blue Ridge Terrace) Test out the latest and greatest Never Summer boards.

1-4 pm The Powder of Love! (Blue Ridge Express Lift) Hop on the Lift to Love. With a special line for speed dating, we’ll pair you up and send you off. If you hit it off, great, if not, try again - just don’t give up! Be sure to sample the special menus at Devils Grill and The Copper Mine Bistro for you and your Valentine.

4-5:30 Weekend Welcome (Front Desk area) Blue Mountain Brewery paired with pretzel sticks and beer cheese

5-9 pm Prime Rib Night (Copper Mine Bistro, ext. 8090) Limited availability, come early, come hungry and leave happy.

7 pm Valentine Cookie Decorating (Mountain Inn Lobby) Be My Valentine cookies, just for kids.

8-11 pm Live Entertainment (The Edge, 8080) Jagged Edge a rock band from Waynesboro featuring 70’s classic rock, blues and more.

Saturday, February 15

8-9 am Corduroy Club Overnight Resort guests and Members ski and ride with Wintergreen staff. Meet behind the rental shop at 8 am. Must have a valid lift ticket to attend.

10 am-4 pm  Blue Ridge Kettle Korn (Blue Ridge Terrace) Join us on the Blue Ridge Terrace from 10-4 for one of our favorite snacks around. It's a perfect way to warm up during a break.

10-11:15 am Hatha YOGA with Carol Felling (Fitness Center, ext.8562) Yoga helps with flexibility, strength, balance, pain relief and well-being. Must be able to move from standing to laying down. Reservations recommended. Resort Guests ($15) and Members and their Guests ($10).

12-2 pm NASTAR (Eagle’s Swoop) Test your skills against the clock. Prizes awarded for fastest child and adult.

1-3 pm Birds of a Feather (The Nature Foundation, ext. 8169) Join Kathie Driscoll and discover which love birds are flocking together during the frosty month of February. Then we will make our own unique Valentine’s card to give to our “Tweetheart”. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Appropriate for ages 5 and up.

3-6 pm Après Ski Live Music (The Edge, ext. 8080) Lama and the Hound are an acoustic duo specializing in classic songs drawn from a number of genres including Americana, Bluegrass, Outlaw Country and Classic Rock.

4 pm  On Slope Games (Blue Ridge Terrace) Après ski games with family fun boot toss, three-legged race, and more.

5-7 pm Après Ski Bonfire (Blue Ridge Terrace) After a day on the slopes relax with us before heading home. Grab a beer, roast a s’more and hang out around the bonfire.

7 pm Family Game Night (Terrace Cafe) Join us for sweet fun with Candy Bingo

7:15 pm Catholic Mass (Crawford)

 8-11 pm Live Entertainment (The Edge, 8080) Randy Black Duo. During Randy’s college years began to learn the art of improvisation, something that would forever shape his approach to music. He hasn't stopped playing since, entertaining as a solo acoustic artist, duo with a variety of accompanying instruments, and in small and large band settings. Randy enjoys performing in a number of different styles/genres and writes quite a bit of original music, sharing his stories through music.

9:30 pm Snow Cat Rides (Blue Ridge Terrace) Ride the slopes in this monster machine and see how they get the slopes ready for you to ski and ride. Sign up and purchase online at wintergreenresort.com/Snow-Cat-Rides. Rides are 10 minutes long. There is only one seat, so second passenger must be under 10 years old and ride on your lap Adults: $15 Kids 10 and under: $5

Sunday, February 16

7-11 am Breakfast Buffet AND Sangria Sunday  (The Copper Mine, ext. 8090) Fuel your day with the buffet and sip on sangria – light, fruity and refreshing.

9 am-2 pm Demo Days (Checkerberry Cabin) Outdoor Elements will be showcasing the newest ski and board gear.

11 am-2 pm Sunday Brunch (Devils Grill) New this winter - enjoy a sumptuous Sunday Brunch with all your favorites taken to a new level of deliciousness. Exclusive to Members and Wintergreen Resort lodging guests.

1-3 pm Wintergreen Speaker Series (Crawford) Kara West, Executive Director Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Virginia will be speaking about her new role as Executive Director and the programming that’s planned for the New Year! Courses are conveniently offered in Charlottesville and surrounding areas. Upwards of 90 classes will be offered in 2020; topics include, but are not limited to history, public policy, art, health and well-being! OLLI classes are open to all adults interested in continuing their education!
