The Treehouse

Kids Ski Programs

The 2020.21 winter kids program guidelines are in the planning and approval process at this time.  If you are interested in being added to a waiting list, we will contact you with information and availability once the programs have been confirmed. Please email: [email protected]

What could be better than learning to ski with new friends? Half-day semi-private lessons available for kids ages 6+.

Children are placed in groups based on age and ability level. Their time at The Treehouse is spent in lessons to help them gain confidence and skill on the snow. And did we mention fun?!

  • Half Day: 9am-11:45 am OR 12:30pm-3:00pm
  • Reservations are required for all Treehouse lessons. There will be NO walk-in availability.
  • Drop off will be OUTSIDE, behind the Treehouse inside the fenced-in learning area. You will check in with the lesson supervisors and they will give you your children's team number. You will then find your child's instructor lined up in numerical order, spaced out within our learning area.
  • Please note die to serious capacity limitations, we may be unable to move your child to a different class/instructor once you have checked in. Please be sure to give us accurate information regarding your child's skiing or snowboarding ability.

Reservations are required to be made by phone as payment will be taken when you call to reserve. Please call 434-325-8179 or email [email protected] to request a call back.

Additional Information for Treehouse Snowsports Programs

  • As part of our Environmental Sustainability Initiative we ask that you have your child bring their own reusable water bottle labeled with their name. This will help us reduce the amount of plastic cups we use. Thank you for your help!
  • All 4 year old children must have proof of age prior to skiing. We will not admit any 3 year old children into our ski program.
  • All children who are skiing must be fully potty trained, but please pack extra clothes for your child, as accidents do happen.
  • Children who cry excessively and are unable to be pacified will be brought inside, and parents may be called. We want all children to have a positive experience skiing with us, and to boost their confidence throughout the day.
  • Your child’s actual time on snow may vary depending on weather conditions and your child’s willingness to participate.
  • Remember that young children have trouble with separation, especially when they are in a new place, surrounded by new people. So please allow time for your child to adjust to the new setting. If you assume your child might have a rough first day adjusting, let them bring a favorite item (stuffed toy or blanket) with them, just please remember to take it with you when you leave.
  • Please keep out of eye sight of your children throughout the day. Many lessons are interrupted once a parent stops by to check in on their child. The child might then get upset once the parent(s) leave, so we always ask you watch/ski from afar! You’ll have plenty of time to ski with them after their lessons are over!
  • Children may not be picked up and brought back to the program in the same day. They will lose their progression with the group, and may hold their group back once they rejoin.
  • If you are more than 15 minutes late for your lesson, you will forfeit your reservation. Once a lesson starts, it is difficult to get children “caught up to speed” while not holding the rest of the group back.
  • We do not offer refunds for days with inclement weather, if the ski lifts are still able to operate safely, we still teach our lessons.
