Building a Better Wintergreen Experience

At Wintergreen Resort, improvement is a year-round commitment. Across the mountain, ongoing investments in recreation, events, golf, resort beautification, and winter operations are helping create an even better experience for guests, members, and homeowners.

New Adventures at Discovery Ridge Adventure Center

The Discovery Ridge Adventure Center continues to grow with exciting additions designed for families of all ages. Guests can enjoy an enhanced Summer Tubing experience, a refreshed Mini Golf course, and a new “Mini-Me” putting hole created especially for toddlers.

Additional improvements include a new Bungee Trampoline, an expanded family play area featuring chalkboards, toys, and sandboxes, and a dedicated activity space where younger children can play, explore, and create lasting memories.

Elevating the Event Experience

Summer 2026 also welcomed the new Saddle Span event tent, enhancing many of Wintergreen’s most popular gatherings. The new venue provides improved sightlines, additional guest comfort, and a beautiful setting overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains during events like Chairlift Sunset Sessions, Blue Ridge Bigfoot Fest, Oktoberfest, and more.

Enhancing Golf & Resort Grounds

Improvements continue across the resort’s golf facilities and grounds. A major irrigation line replacement is underway to better serve the Devils Knob Golf Course and Racquet Sports facilities, while a multi-year bunker enhancement project is helping elevate course conditions.

Guests will also notice new landscaping, colorful seasonal flower displays, expanded native plantings, hardscape improvements, and drainage enhancements that continue to enhance the beauty and functionality of the resort.

Preparing for Winter

While summer is in full swing, preparations for ski season are already well underway. Wintergreen is investing in major snowmaking and mountain operations upgrades, including the installation of 14 new TechnoAlpin TT10 fan guns, expanded ATASS automation, and snowmaking system enhancements that will improve efficiency, reliability, and future capacity. Construction of a new CVEC electrical substation will further support the resort’s growing snowmaking infrastructure.

Additional offseason work includes annual lift inspections and preventative maintenance, the replacement of the Patch Lift haul rope, a new conveyor system for The Plunge Tubing Park, and numerous infrastructure improvements that help ensure safe, dependable mountain operations throughout the winter season.

Investing in Every Season

These projects represent Wintergreen Resort’s ongoing commitment to continually enhancing the mountain experience. Whether you’re visiting for summer adventures, championship golf, signature events, breathtaking scenery, or winter fun, these investments are helping shape an even brighter future for the resort.
