Taking place Saturday, November 7, 2026, UltraTrax invites walkers, hikers, and endurance enthusiasts of all experience levels to explore Wintergreen’s scenic mountain trails while discovering just how far they can go.

Whether you’re looking to tackle your first long-distance walk or ready to test your endurance on challenging mountain terrain, there’s a place for you on the trail.

One Mountain. Four Challenges.

What makes UltraTrax unique? You choose the challenge that’s right for you!

Participants can select from four distances:

• 7 Miles – Level 1: Take on one full loop and experience the excitement of the challenge.
• 14 Miles – Level 2: Double the distance and push your endurance a little further.
• 21 Miles – Level 3: Step up to a serious endurance challenge and earn the Grey Wolf Medal upon completion.
• 28 Miles – Level 4: Take on all four loops for the ultimate UltraTrax experience.

With a 10-hour window to complete your chosen distance, UltraTrax is designed to challenge participants while allowing them to set their own goals. Looking for an extra test of strength and determination? Add an optional weighted ruck of 10, 20, or 35 pounds to take your adventure to the next level.

Wintergreen’s mountain setting provides an unforgettable backdrop for this exciting new event. Participants will navigate wooded trails, rolling ridgelines, rocky terrain, and scenic overlooks while taking in the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

UltraTrax offers both moderate and expert course options, giving participants the opportunity to choose terrain suited to their experience and comfort level. The moderate route follows established trails, while the expert course features more technical terrain for experienced hikers seeking an additional challenge.

Along the way, participants can expect well-marked courses, stocked aid stations, professional timing, and a supportive atmosphere that makes every mile count. Participants also receive commemorative event gear, with additional recognition available for completing the higher-level challenges.
