With four spectacularly different seasons at Wintergreen, we often ask our guests – what’s your favorite season? While the fall equinox isn’t until September 22, there’s something about the days after Labor Day and the start of school that signals the season’s arrival. The winds shift, the temps cool, leaves begin to pop with color, and the scent of evening fires drifts through the air. The heat of summer has subsided, but the energy on the mountain is still buzzing—with plenty of reasons to plan your autumn getaway.

• Chairlift Sunset Sessions | September 20
  Close out summer with live music from Sisters & Brothers, a scenic sunset chairlift ride, bonfires, s’mores, and mountain vibes at our final Sunset Sessions of the season.

• Blue Ridge Bigfoot Fest | September 27
  Celebrate the mystery of the mountains! Live music, artisan markets, specialty food, family fun, and a free speaker series with Bigfoot experts all make this one unforgettable festival.

• Oktoberfest | October 18
  Raise a glass and celebrate fall with authentic German food, craft beer, live music, and festive games. Surrounded by peak foliage, this event is pure Blue Ridge magic.
