Cold temperatures have firmly settled in on the mountain this week, and while it may feel chilly at first, the reward has been more than worth it. These are the temperatures that create truly outstanding snow conditions, and right now we are enjoying some of the best skiing and riding of the entire season. Consistent cold weather keeps snow quality high and surfaces reliable, delivering that classic midwinter feel on every run. Guests are quickly discovering that bundling up for a crisp morning pays off in a big way once they hit the slopes.
Last week’s winter storm brought approximately nine inches of fresh natural snow, laying down a strong base across the mountain. Since then, persistently cold temperatures have allowed our snowmaking team and SNOWPOWER to operate around the clock. Their efforts have focused on reinforcing trails, improving overall coverage, and fine tuning surface conditions from top to bottom. The combination of natural snowfall and nonstop snowmaking has resulted in conditions that truly do not get much better. Skiers and riders are finding a great balance of smooth, well groomed snow paired with pockets of fresh powder, creating an exceptional experience for all ability levels.
Looking ahead, the forecast continues to deliver good news. Cold temperatures are expected to stick around through the weekend, giving our snowmaking team even more opportunities to expand terrain. There is also a chance for additional natural snow, which would only add to the already excellent conditions. If everything comes together, we could be approaching a major milestone, with the potential to have all terrain open by the weekend.
If you have been waiting for the right time to plan a visit, this is it. Between fresh natural snow, consistent snowmaking, and some of the best winter conditions of the season, now is the moment to come experience the mountain at its very best.
