Notes straight from the stream. . . .
"We are currently in our peak season for trout fishing. Half and full day trips are being booked now, but availability is extremely limited. Trout fishing will be red hot into mid-June. We are now booking float fishing trips for smallmouth bass on the James and Shenandoah Rivers for June, July, August and early September. Beginner fly fishing classes and casting clinics are available year round but availability is always limited during peak fishing seasons."

Guided Trout Fishing Trips
Wintergreen offers half and full day guided trout fishing trips for fly fishermen on private water on Stoney Creek or on nearby streams. Wintergreen's Stoney Creek is a private freestone mountain stream that has predictable spring and summer insect hatches and a large population of wild and stocked brook trout. For anglers looking to explore the surrounding area, trips may also be taken to a number of other nearby mountain streams or special regulation trout water. We use no more than a 2:1 angler/guide ratio to ensure the highest level of attention. Our approach to guiding is to put the angler on fish that he/she can catch, and to suggest flies and techniques that have proven effective on the waters being fished. The emphasis is on safety, enjoyment and catching fish. Instruction is available upon request. Lunch and drinks are provided for full day trips.
