Kick Off the Holiday Weekend

The festivities begin on Friday, July 3, with plenty of ways to start your Independence Day weekend. Spend the day relaxing at Lake Monocan, challenge the family at Discovery Ridge Adventure Center, or stop by The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen’s First Friday Open House. As evening arrives, enjoy live music at The Edge and settle into a festive mountain atmosphere.

Celebrate All Day on July 4

On Saturday, July 4, the mountain comes alive with activities for guests of all ages.

Take in breathtaking views during a scenic chairlift ride aboard the Blue Ridge Express, browse unique creations at the Arts & Crafts Showcase, and enjoy food, beverages, and live music throughout the day on the Blue Ridge Terrace.

Families can make lasting memories at the Community Fair and Family Block Party, featuring cookie decorating, DIY tie dye t shirts, yard games, and more. Guests can also participate in a Living with Nature hike, attend the Wild Saturday program with The Nature Foundation, or try complimentary ax throwing for adults.

As the day continues, enjoy the Wintergreen Music Festival Patriotic Pops Concert at Dunlop Pavilion before the excitement builds toward the evening finale.

A Fireworks Show You Won’t Want to Miss

The celebration concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over Dobie Ski Slope at 9:30 p.m. Gather with family and friends as the mountain lights up in celebration of America’s 250th birthday, creating an unforgettable ending to an incredible holiday weekend.
