Big Things Are Happening on the Mountain This Summer!

Our incredible snowmaking team is hard at work laying the groundwork—literally—for an even better winter experience. So far, they’ve landed 10 massive concrete pits across the slopes, each one weighing in at over 3,200 pounds. These six-foot-deep by seven-foot-long prefabricated structures will serve as the sturdy foundation for our brand-new TechnoAlpin TT10 fan guns.

Each TT10 unit tips the scales at around 2,300 pounds, so a rock-solid base is essential. But these concrete pits do more than just hold snow guns—they also house the latest W3 hydrants from TechnoAlpin, along with hookups for power, communication, and water. It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to modernize and enhance Wintergreen’s snowmaking infrastructure.

We’ve installed ten of these concrete foundations to anchor the TechnoAlpin TT10 fan guns—state-of-the-art equipment engineered to deliver better snow, more efficiently, and with less environmental impact. These powerful machines are designed to optimize water usage, reduce waste, and generate high-quality snow even in marginal conditions. It’s all part of strengthening Wintergreen’s SNOWPOWER—one of the most advanced and comprehensive snowmaking systems on the East Coast.

What makes the TT10s so exciting? They’re engineered to use 100% of the water to make exactly what you want—incredible snow. These new guns are more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and built to perform. And the best part? No more water draining from the base of the gun—just smooth, consistent, snow-covered slopes from top to bottom.

And this upgrade is just getting started. Next up: welding and installing new piping, repositioning existing fan guns to maximize slope coverage, and relocating our air/water guns to more strategic zones across the mountain.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to Wintergreen this season—blanketed in fresh, white snow, powered by innovation, and backed by the strength of SNOWPOWER.
